It’s always great to see more initiatives emerging across the Caribbean that’s geared to showcasing and rewarding existing tech talent as well as encouraging more individuals to come into the Tech industry as developers, entrepreneurs and professionals. DigitalJAM2.0 was one such initiative by the World Bank and Government of Jamaica. We were happy to be part of the team that help make it happen especially leading in the development of the first Open Data Sports Hackathon in the World, kinda fitting that it was held in Jamaica, Sprint Factory of the World. It will surely be better in 2013.
Two of my personal highlights was seeing the passion in the hackathon participants and meeting Dave McClure whose company 500startups.com and blog I’ve been a regular reader of.
