Ahead of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2014, we at Connectimass Foundation reflect on our tech event Kingston BETA- which is the first and longest running Tech Community meetup in the Caribbean. M.A.D.E. was selected as the winner for the Caribbean in the VentureOut Challenge on Nov. 1, 2013. Launched by the World Bank’s infoDev and CRDF Global, an international organization which promotes international technical collaboration, the competition sought to support mobile app entrepreneurs to expand internationally. The Challenge is directed at young start-ups from relatively small domestic markets, for whom expanding globally is particularly crucial.  more

We're now able to confirm the staging of our first Startup Weekend Jamaica for October 4-6th, 2013 at the PCJ Auditorium, PCJ Building in Kingston. Jamaica joins the Global Startup Movement this way and in a big way. Already there has been over 1,050 Startup Weekend events worldwide, 100,000 attendees, in 110 countries, across 475 cities. In the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago, Martinique, Dominican Republic, Haiti has gotten the Startup Fever. Now it’s time for Jamaica.
